In May of 2025, Lydia’s goddess banners, crop circles, and other artworks were gifted to the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, Colorado to be used for scholarship and with the intent to have the collection widely exhibited. UNC is where Lydia received her MFA and also taught art and instituted her class “The Herstory of the Goddess”.

On September 11, 2025, please join UNC for a special evening honoring the legacy of Lydia, M.A. ’72, and Robert (Bob) Ruyle — beloved educators and champions of the arts. In recognition of a transformational gift from the Ruyle family, the UNC Campus Commons Art Gallery will be named in their honor, supporting artistic learning, research, and global engagement in the School of Art & Design.

This is an exciting new chapter for her body of work. We are working hand in hand with UNC to help bring Lydia’s art out to diverse audiences and venues worldwide. We will update this website from time to time to share more of her works, as the UNC School of Art & Design archives and catalogs the extensive collection.
